ASTEME

Our Mission

ASTEME (pronounced esteem) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) program, created to help our children discover the answer to a question that many teachers and parents hear every day – “When am I ever going to use what I learn in my life?” From the child who is struggling in school to the one who is ready for more sophisticated challenges, ASTEME provides a safe and inspiring place to explore the many roads where learning can lead us.

ASTEME Academy is a part-time and full-time program that offers a rigorous and engaging curriculum with unique and dynamic elective programs. ASTEME also offers enrichment classes, coding classes, summer camps, and MORE! All of our programs are designed to enhance your children’s love of learning.

Using project based learning and our own community as inspiration, we help children find applications in both the ordinary and the extraordinary; from the architecture that surrounds us to the technology that is so integral to our daily lives. Together we become active learners as we expand our passions and interests, and discover moments which enhance our learning.

Our goal is to inspire children to live, love and learn while creating life long problem solvers who will become our next generation of scientists, engineers, mathematicians, artists, architects and leaders. We look forward to sharing the excitement of learning and discovery with your children!

ASTEME students ask thoughtful questions, with curiosity and openness to possibility, and conduct skillful research in pursuit of substantive questions. Building on existing frameworks, they make connections and strive for increasingly complex and sophisticated levels of thinking.
EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATORS
ASTEME students are dynamic discussion participants, empathic listeners, sophisticated readers, articulate writers, and engaging presenters. They express their ideas across media and modes of communication and deftly adapt their skills to new contexts.
